Seahawks part ways with RB/Returner Leon Washington

RB/Return man Leon Washington has been released by the Seahawks according to a source, Washington was due to $1.5 million in base salary in 2013, The Seahawks have tried to shop him around the league.

After the trade to bring former Vikings WR Percy Harvin to Seattle, the Seahawks had no more use of Washington and also had to save cap space.

Washington was never used much as a running back with the Seahawks since arriving via trade from the Jets during the 2010 draft for a fifth round pick but has been one of the better return man in the league.

Washington recorded 4,398 return yards [both kick and punt returns] during his 3-years with the Seahawks and also scored 4 TDs.
